Where It Started
In 2019, a former mathematics teacher noticed a troubling pattern. Bright students could solve complex equations but didn't understand why their student loans compounded differently than their savings accounts. Adults made career decisions without calculating the long-term pension implications.
Financial literacy wasn't absent because people lacked intelligence. It was absent because no one taught it systematically.
The Cardiff Experiment
What began as weekend workshops in a community centre grew into structured programmes. Parents brought their children. Young professionals brought their questions. Retirees brought decades of experience and a desire to finally understand their pensions.
The common thread wasn't age or income. It was the relief of having someone explain finance in plain language, without jargon or condescension.
Clarity Over Complexity
Financial concepts become approachable when stripped of unnecessary terminology.
Action Over Theory
Every session ends with practical steps you can implement immediately.
Judgement-Free Learning
Your starting point doesn't matter. Progress does.
Who We Serve
Our students range from eight-year-olds learning to save pocket money to professionals restructuring their retirement strategies. The youngest participant wanted to understand why their parents stressed about bills. The oldest wanted to ensure their grandchildren inherited wisely.
We don't gatekeep knowledge behind prerequisites. If you're curious about money and willing to learn, you belong here.
How We Operate
Small group sessions ensure individual attention. Flexible scheduling accommodates working parents and shift workers. Course materials remain accessible after completion because learning doesn't end when the session does.
We monetise through course fees, not through commission on financial products. This independence allows us to provide unbiased education focused solely on your understanding, not sales quotas.
